While deliberating with my partner about our Kindergarten troubles with Lauca I received this email from him at work.
I never have any doubts about your judgement as a mother, you are nothing short of amazing.
He never did anything like this for me, as I pointed out to him several times, but writing this email to me was pretty fucking good. I really needed to hear that, and I will probably really need to hear that a few times in my life so I’m keeping it here forĀ future reference.

Well, even though I know you only from your blog, can I say I’ve never had any doubts either? I have no idea how I would negotiate the difficulties you’re facing, I really don’t, and that you’re continuing to do this with any modicum of reflexivity, that you keep looking for a way to get through that keeps the faith with all your family’s needs, is really inspiring.
P.S. Lu is a climber as well. Small and wiry c.f. long limbs but she clambered up an interior rock climbing wall at the physio’s, who took one look and said ‘a natural’. As someone who gets vertigo above the second step on a ladder I was so so proud, even as I toppled over with bystander vertigo.
PFG, fer sure.
And every time you read that email, you better believe it–he couldn’t be more right.
