Awww thank you for this award dirt and rocks (a great mama academic blog, by the way, you should really check her out), and I love that the award’s graphics look like they were created in the 1980s. The graphics are just one of the mysteries of this award, another is why is it called Brilliante and not Brilliant? dirt and rocks and I will never know.
dirt and rocks tell me that – Like all things bloggy, there are rules. Here they are:
1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.
So, here are 7 more deserving blogs. It was difficult to choose 7, every blog on my blogroll is brilliant(e) or I wouldn’t be so addicted to all their feeds.
two women blogging - these women are not only very frequent with their blogging, they’re also very insightful, very touching writers.. and they’re both doctors too. Go figure.
team effort- I hope she won’t be offended by me saying that I thought a blog about home-schooling would be as boring as bat shit, but this so isn’t. Filled with beeeautiful photos and moments of ’slow parenting’ perfection that bliss me out.
the hand mirror- New Zealand feminism, just as fabulous as you might have imagined.
selective and arbitrary- the personal blog of Lauredhel of Hoyden About Town and here you’ll find some sides to her that you won’t always see on Hoyden, like that she is very funny and terribly irreverent.
the dawn chorus – brand spanking new Australian feminist collective blog already somehow managing to be very super.
womanist musings – a mother blogger who writes about current affairs and pop culture with a critical eye, which just so happens to be one of my favourite combinations in a blog.
penguin unearthed – a very smart mother blogger with seriously eclectic tastes in blogging, which just happen to include feminist parenting.
hey, thanks for the links, some great blogs there that i hadnt yet got around to reading from your blog roll.
Thanks bluemilk. I never really thought of what I do as slow parenting until you labeled it for me, and then I realized that it’s exactly what I do.
Hey thanks, bluemilk. Very kind words. Sadly my blogging skills are seriously deficient with graphics, so the next step will have to wait until I figure out the logo!
As a member of handmirror, thanks for your linky love and send the love right back.
Thank you for the linky love for The Hand Mirror, Blue Milk. I’m loving writing for The Hand Mirror as well as for my own blog; it’s so lovely to be part of a group of women putting something together that’s a bit bigger combined than all of us added up. We’re working up own list of people / blogs to send the linky love on to.
Oh, hallo! I didn’t see this the first time around. Thankyou!
My eljay is mostly for friends and for me, but my public posts are the ones I don’t mind sharing with the world, and include as a large proportion off-the-cuff peeves and all the Kyoot Kid Stories that I don’t want to overwhelm the Hoydenizens with.
But you beat me to nominating Two Women Blogging, which I have a prolonged blogcrush on, so I’ll think of some others.
[...] the Brilliante Blog award on to me. She got it via The Hand Mirror, and the Hand Mirror got it from Blue Milk, who got it from dirt and rocks who got it from Postcards from the Edge, and that’s as far as [...]
