My new mother friend is Swiss. She has a toddling baby the same age as Cormac. We met in the park. This week she invited me over for lunch and she made a fondue. I learnt a lot about making fondue and while I probably couldn’t replicate her techniques I would at least now know what mistakes I am making.
More mother dates should be conducted over a crisp white wine. Call me pretentious if you like, it is the truth.

My newish playdate (we met 6 months ago) is Lebanese and loves to bake feta and herb stuffed bread rolls, tiramisu, and shawarma. No complaints here!

Also, the Swiss coffee mugs were divine – as were the place settings, also with Swiss flag and the fondue pot. It really made me appreciate what an aesthetically pleasing design the Swiss have with their flag.
