A really beautiful piece of parenting advice from Jay of Two Women Blogging.
A wonderful piece of advice for feminist bloggers from Echidne of the Snakes.
I Blame the Patriarchy reviews Toy Story 3. Expect wit.
The importance of knowing when to quit. “Go to bed and deal with it in the morning” at Up Popped a Fox.
It is the right thing to do but it can feel like shit to do it. Calling someone out at Oh, The Joys. (Twice I witnessed but did not call out strangers who were doing bad things to their children. I usually say something, but these were both fathers, maybe I was frightened of them? The regret haunts me still).
More perfect blogging from Spilt Milk. The last two paragraphs are particularly so.
I know this is Sweet Juniper‘s cute little kid being cute on Halloween but the pictures gave me the David Lynch shivers. (Still, who am I to talk?)

Re: calling someone out, P and I saw a father literally beating his small son while getting him into the car. We had no idea what to do, because we guessed that it was a risk that he’d be more seriously beaten once we left if we tried to intervene. We did take down the number plate to report him, but then stupidly forgot to follow up. Still haunts me.
