My cousin (who is very nice) was there with her children and over lunch I learnt that she conducts annual planning sessions with her children and husband to set goals for the year ahead. Apparently they re-visit their plan quarterly on school holidays to see how they are progressing through their milestones! (Way to kill the fun of school holidays). (Also, I should have tipped her off about this).
So you see, there is the possibility of something worse than attending a workplace planning day – you could have a family one, too.
After lunch we all went down to the sea for a swim in the rain. Lauca caught her first wave on the board we bought her for Christmas. Cormac really imagined he could swim and kept throwing himself out of my arms into the great, wide ocean. And then he started shivering because it was pouring with rain.
Forget the planning day, everyone should visit the ocean before they make their new years’ resolutions. Doth clear the head and inspire the mind.

We have GOT to visit the beach/lake more often this summer. We only went once last year.
