Sarah Wendell, of Smart Bitches, Trashy Books fame, and me (moderator of Keep Your Boehner Out of My Uterus on Tumblr) created FreeRangeFeeding.tumblr.com in the wake of Kasey Kahne’s anti-breastfeeding tweets two weeks ago. It’s all people breastfeeding in public, which we have dubbed “kahning.” I will be linking to this post on that Tumblr, for sure.
Just found this site and I love it! Thank you! I always breastfeed in public using a blanket over the head approach. No more of that shit.And to tell you the truth I am definitely in the mood for some dumbass to say something to me for breastfeeding out and about. It will be on and poppin. This pic is awesome.
Maybe keep the blanket handy and offer it to them to put over their head?

Funny, I actually used to find that using a blanket drew MORE attention to the fact that I was breastfeeding. People were like – why is there a big blanket over your shoulder/baby? When I was breastfeeding without the blanket most people just thought I was snuggling my baby. I think many more mothers breastfeed in public than we realise simply because we don’t realise that what we think is snuggling is actually also feeding.
What a fanatstic photo. I can’t decide if it makes me want to have another baby or learn motocross.

Humm, I raced motocross pregnant and nursing. I nursed my son till he was 2. Riding with engorged breasts hurt-and if I had just finished riding, the last thing I would do is remain sitting on my bike and holding a baby to nurse.
Now that would be some serious arm pump. I like the theme here, I just really think its posed- thinking the bike is on a stand, and what size bike is the little kiddo riding; he must have some skills, or his wearing big brothers boots!
