Been there, done that, repeatedly. Eventually I realised that the teatree oil shampoo I was using only knocked the little critters out, and I had to fine tooth comb not just for the eggs, but for the insects, then pick them out and drop them in a bucket of water. It was always a very long process.
We haven’t had an infestation for about two years now… fingers crossed.
I don’t ever recall being treated for these as a kid, but I’ve had to do my kids a few times now. Cormac is looking so grown up now!
Oh dear, this is the thing I’ve feared most about parenting. My sister has four kids and takes a very pragmatic approach…everyone’s hair gets cut off. Whenever she sports a new bob, I know there’s been a recent infestation.
Oh dear poor you and poor household. My sister got them in India and it took months to get rid of. She found smothering her hair with conditioner then combing them out was the best. Not looking forward to when my children get them.
My son constantly picks lice up at childcare and I am getting used to the idea that the nit comb is our friend for the next 14 yrs or so !
