Most mothers worry when their daughters reach adolescence, but I was the opposite. I relaxed, I sighed with relief. Little girls are cute and small only to adults. To one another they are not cute. They are life-sized.
Cat’s Eye by Margaret Atwood is probably the best novel about relational aggression in female friendship circles, ever.

I agree, but I couldn’t read it again. Once was enough, it made me remember things from my childhood I didn’t want to think about.
Yes. That is, in fact, my exact opinion on that novel. It’s one of my favourites.

Yes, Cat’s Eye is one of Atwood’s books that I have enjoyed reading the most – I found it much easier than The Handmaiden, which really scared me. But my favourite is The Robber Bride, it’s one of my regular re-reads.

OK everyone is talking about Margaraet Atwood, who is awesome, but this brought up something else for me, about when people judge you by your size… I am short and people love to tell me this. I have been teased for it even as an adult, people expect you to feel bad that you are short. The thing is, to me, I am not short: I’m normal (and everyone else seems freakishly giant).
