What have I been doing?
Walking.
Sticking to a budget.
Working.
Pulling ‘fun school holiday activities’ out of my arse. (See the two points directly above).
Being a fabulously entertaining dinner party guest (yes, I think I really was, twice in one week in fact). (And can’t Cormac rock a fake fur vest – I like how the string on the helium balloon almost looks like a whip)?
(Also, being slightly braver about being photographed – and appearing here – after reading this about how mothers often document their family’s lives more than their own. So, looky here, me on this blog twice in one month).
(We came across the toy vacuum cleaner when we cleared out the garage and Cormac predictably loved it. He has a fascination with things that make engine noises – and I like to subvert that masculine stereotype by encouraging him to admire cake mixers and hair dryers as much as possible – and he also likes the opportunity to emulate his father, who is a mighty fine operator of the vacuum cleaner). (Oh, and ignore the enormous pile of washing in the corner of the frame).
Very nice to see you, Ms Blue Milk! And as for that laundry pile, it has a clone right here in Germany.
I like the toy vacuum cleaner. Colours! But I adore the fluffy vest. Cormac looks like a star.
My pile of washing hasn’t made it as far as the living room. It’s sitting on top of a bucket in the laundry.
Waves to all those lovely people who are similarly behindhand in folding washing.
I don’t have a laundry (washing machine in bathroom, dryer in shed, handy cupboard just outside bathroom door), so my washing pile is on the dining room table and several chairs. It’s all clean! Just unsorted and unfolded, which makes getting dressed in the morning… interesting.
What a beautiful looking place in that first photo. And yes, it’s great to see a photo of you. And very brave too. I’m a big chicken anonymous blogger and I love that you aren’t (totally) even though you write about difficult things.
PS – Laundry around here has escaped the basket and is mingling sociably in the hallway.
