I heard this report on a news bulletin once and it was announcing the death of some poor man and I hate to admit this but I was overcome with a sense of envy. He had died while riding his horse, struck by lightning. I thought then, that’s how I want to die. Poor horse, but honestly, there could be no better way to go. Horse riding and storms, two of my favourite things.
So, this is me and my dressage horse. Judging from my very long hair I think I was about 21 years old here. I bought him with money I saved from a cleaning job while I was at university. Best purchase ever. He was a bargain. Incredibly arrogant and incredibly loyal to me, he was with me until he eventually died peacefully of old age. No lightning involved, I promise.
*goes green* He looks gorgeous. I wanted my own horse so desperately when I was a kid. Only really gave up on the idea when my own kids came along and the thought of the cost and time commitment became rather unattractive.

My grandad was killed by a lightning. He was standing next to his horse when it happened and they both died. It may sound romantic but he was very young and my mum was only 8..
