In Australia there are free women’s legal services available for women when they are dealing with stuff like custody disputes, child protection agencies and domestic violence in the court system… have you something similar in the USA? I know a lot of my readers are American and a lot of you are very well-informed so I’m putting the question out here to you all.
I urgently need to know for an American mother who is getting absolutely smashed by the court system right now. Is there an NGO service where women can get free legal advice to assist them with gendered disadvantage in the court system in your country? I’m not talking about a court-appointed lawyer, but somewhere that provides one-off (or more) legal information/advice to the community to help women know what’s happening to them in the system and how to make sure they are doing everything they can to help themselves.
And if you don’t know the answer can you please consider spreading the word on my question.
