This is Cormac, my three year old, showing me the ‘aeroplane’ he constructed out of an old sock, a pen, a CD, a hairband and a pair of pliers – and surprise, it actually looks like a plane on this angle in the photo. This kind of beautiful, creative parenting moment happens when you ignore the kids until they get really bored.
All the useful objects were found on and around his father’s desk. The very next object Cormac found there was a condom (it’s ok, in its wrapper, people) so it is fortunate that the plane was built by then. Goddamn craft, it lives on in the next child, too. (I just remembered condoms as creative craft object happened with our first kid, too, we really suck at this).
