My three year old son, Cormac, who is just learning to read brought me this card from his alphabet set. He left it on the bed next to me while I was still waking up. “It’s your ‘mmm’ for Mummy,” he told me.
This is (fucking) homegrown lavender – my first full bunch. Most of it came from the plant Bill gave me for Valentines Day this year. I’m so excited with myself for growing my own bunch of flowers. Also, our bees love me.
Yes, and homegrown eggs. Feel my smug.
Envious of your eye for photography. Are you good with colours/interior decorating too?
Love.
I’m so going to turn into you in 3 years. EGGS/LAVENDER/CLEVER CHILDREN
Can you feel my envy? Goddamn garden is overrun with weeds, even the lavender got smothered. (The dill is out of control, though.) And the egg thing? SO envious. I want laying hens, but have no clue how to go about it, and keep thinking how does one DO that with a full-time job?
Chooks are excellent pets and reasonably easy care. Google ‘chook tractor’ if you live in the suburbs to get an idea of the type of structure you can get. You will also need to check with your local authority if you are allowed to keep them.
I don’t often comment, but I really, *really* love your photo posts where you share a slice of your life/world/family!
these are so beautiful! If you’re smug, you earned it.
