This was my weekend without children. It was a milestone event to celebrate new eras of parenting and life or something. It was all incredibly lovely and luxurious – my time was all my own, and I ate and drank nice things and had introspective conversations with friends that weren’t interrupted, even once, by children. I still managed to spend quite a bit of it feeling stressed out though, because I am just a ball of stress lately. I am seriously limping to the end of this year.
I spent the majority of this weekend in the mountains with a close friend. We stayed in her friends’ cottage, which was peaceful and beautiful, like a retreat.
My friend preparing dinner.
I can cook – cocktails!
In the kitchen garden.
And this is my hotel room in Sydney. I went for a party last week to meet my editors and the other writers at Daily Life. Everybody was utterly charming and ridiculously good-looking, it was like stepping into someone else’s film.
