Interesting. Chris Kenny thinks he has a gotcha here with “Revealed: secret Gillard strategy to leverage gender wars for political gain”. (If you can’t open the link, but wish to read the article, may I suggest copying and pasting the title of the article into Google and clicking on the link it finds instead?).
But no woman, let alone a female politician would ever do anything ever to acknowledge her gender in a competitive work environment without a lot of consideration first. Think this shows cynicism? No, this is what women do all the time in their workplaces, Mr Kenny. We are not the default, we are the ‘other’. We are always very careful about our gender and how we address it with others …because we have to be.
The document reveals media tactics used to promote the women’s agenda. with suggestions such as an interview with mamamia founder Mia Freedman, followed by blog or question-and-answer session on the website.

Indeed. I stumbled on this recently. I made the mistake of thinking I knew one of my male colleagues well enough, and broke the first rule of experiencing subtle sexism in the workplace: I talked about it. It has become clear that was a mistake. I won’t do that again… but the question is, how much damage did I do with this mistake? It is frustrating.
Oh Cloud, I’ve done that! It’s not jus sexism, it happens with racism too. You just can’t talk about it, ‘cos if you do, you’re doomed. Pretend, pretend, pretend. It’s. All. Fine.
