This is an apology to Aboriginal Australia from Abe Ape, a refugee re-settled in Australia. His apology is written and performed in a rhythm not unlike Gil Scott-Heron’s This Revolution Will Not Be Televised.
I have to admit that it makes me squirm in shame to see a newly arrived Australian make better reconciliation attempts with Indigenous Australians than many multiple-generation Australians here. And his poem opens up fascinating thoughts about what it is like to be black and move to a black country that has long been dominated by its white immigrant population.

Bloody hell. Shame is the word. Thanks Bluemilk; love the breadth of what you bestow on those of us less diligent than you are in keeping up with what matters.
